This toothy mouthed fish is very quick and goes on fairly long runs when hooked. . Barracudas are found almost everywhere, from the deeper waters to the crystal flats. Smaller fish in the backcountry are great table fare and larger fish of 15-30 pounds can be found on the ocean-side flats. To some, these fish are considered a pest, but hook into one that weights 20-30 pounds, you're thinking may change as quickly as the amount of line on your reel. Barracuda are shaped like a natural torpedo, long, cylindrical and silver. With lightning runs and crazy jumps that completely fly out of the water, this is one fight that can impress even the most experienced angler. Barracudas will eagerly eat live baits as well as many artificial lures. These fish will earn your respect with their glare and grin as well as their aggressive fight. |
